You won't get this kind of experience with Beethoven from your headphones.

A Beethoven string quartet in Salt Lake City ground to a halt mid-performance — a broken string, a quartet that walked off stage, then came back to play the whole movement again from the top. That's the kind of night Chamber Music Society of Salt Lake City subscribers are still talking about fifty years later.

This Thursday, the Takács Quartet — one of the most celebrated string quartets performing today — brings Mendelssohn, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Brahms to Libby Gardner Concert Hall on the University of Utah () campus.
