A Republican controlled White House and Congress managed to only increase our debt.
No new wars lead to starting wars.
Lower gas prices lead to higher gas prices.
Lower groceries lead to higher consumable prices.
Removing waste, fraud, and abuse lead to creating more waste, fraud, and abuse - Crypto, ballroom, gold leaf on statues, and the reflecting pool to just name a few.
I took an oath to the constitution once, and I'm ready to do it again. My loyalty to this country has already been proven with my service in the Marine Corps. Let's work to agree better and work on the 90% of issues we agree on instead of fighting on the 10% we do not.
$40 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT! The U.S. national debt has topped $40 trillion for the first time.
Treasury Department data released Wednesday shows the debt reached $40.05 trillion on Aug. 18, more than double its level in 2017.
The milestone comes as federal spending continues to exceed revenue, requiring the government to borrow to cover the difference and adding to growing interest costs.
The U.S. last recorded a federal budget surplus during the Clinton administration, with surpluses from fiscal years 1998 through 2001. Clinton worked with a Republican-controlled Congress led by Newt Gingrich to pass the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.
