In observance of Juneteenth, our office will be closed on Monday, June 15, 2026, following the State of Utah holiday schedule. The state observes Juneteenth on the preceding Monday when the holiday falls on a weekday.

We will return to regular business hours on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 8:30 AM.

Happy National Children’s Day!

Today we celebrate the joy, curiosity, and potential of every child. At Children’s Service Society of Utah, we are proud to support children and families across our community through our core programs, including Adoption, Child Care Resource Agency, GRANDfamilies, and Building Blocks Childcare Center.

Through education, support, and connection to resources, our work focuses on strengthening families and helping children grow up in safe, nurturing, and loving environments.

Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, feel supported, and be valued.

Free community teen event! 🎉🎉
Our GRANDfamilies Youth Council has planned an exclusive teen summer event happening Saturday, June 27th at Murray Park, 12-3PM. This is a GRANDfamilies hosted event, but it will be open to all teens age 14-19!

There will be staff supervision, food, games, and a craft. Teens can also stay and go to Murray Outdoor Pool (entrance fee required). ☀️🏊

A home study is not a test of perfection.

For many prospective adoptive parents, the home study can feel intimidating; but it isn’t about having a perfect house, a perfect family, or a perfect life.

A home study helps prepare families for adoption and ensures that children are entering a safe, stable environment. It’s about readiness, support, and making sure families have the tools they need for the journey ahead.

💪Our caregivers are Lived Experts! 🎊

At GRANDfamilies, this is the motto we are digging into as we adjust our program to meet the needs of kinship families in Utah.
Recently, our caregivers all over the state were invited to a Caregiver Leadership Day where they connected, taught each other, and built a stronger community of incredible caregivers.
We are excited to implement changes, including a mentorship program, so that our caregivers can strengthen each other through their lived experience.

"As a survivor of childhood trauma, I realize that trauma and difficulties when growing up impact the way we parent our children. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to participate in a program that helps me to break that cycle for my grandkids.

I get an immense benefit from our weekly GRANDfamilies meetings. There is so much I have learned from each week... We are a small group in Utah, but the breadth and depth of what we are learning provides the opportunity for intergenerational healing."

This is a testimonial from a GRANDfamilies caregiver about our new weekly support groups for anyone raising a relative's child. We are so thankful for the great information in these classes, and the support families offer one another.

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.
