Our brother, Chris Bluth, was larger than life and his legacy will continue to echo throughout the Fire Service in our state and beyond. He spent a career helping people in their greatest hour of need, mentoring hundreds of Firefighters, and teaching our profession to thousands. His passing is devastating.

Please help us fight blood cancer next Sunday at Fisher Brewing Company! Our Firefighters are headed to Seattle in March to climb for a cure- they’ll race up 69 floors of the Columbia Tower in full gear and on air with Firefighters from across the world to raise money for the fight against blood cancers. Everything raised will be donated to Blood Cancer United and we ask you to consider attending or a donation. See you Sunday!

Our brother, Local 81 Firefighter Kade Martin, passed away surrounded by his family and friends on November 12 from job related cancer. Kade wasn’t just a dedicated firefighter, but also a dedicated father, son, and friend who was deeply loved by those who knew him. Please consider a donation below.

Kade loomed larger than life and served Salt Lake City with bravery, integrity, and professionalism. We are heartbroken at his untimely passing. Our Firefighters, Fire Department, and City are all better for his time here, and his legacy will live on through every one of us. We will never forget.

Last weekend, Salt Lake City Firefighters attended the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Colorado Springs to honor past and present firefighters that fell in the line of duty.

This year, we commemorated one of our own: Captain Rodney O. Neerings, who died in the line of duty in 1978. This addition was made possible after an exhaustive effort by his family, our Union, the Salt Lake City Fire Department Honor Guard, , and our retired Firefighters.

The sacred walls of the Memorial now hold his name alongside thousands of others, ensuring that he will never be forgotten.
