Miller Company, which is developing the nearby Power District, is partnering with a world-class landscape architecture firm to enhance and improve a roughly one-mile section of the Jordan River. Caucus night is coming up on Tuesday, March 17 — and for many Westside residents, it’s one of the most direct ways to take part in Utah’s political process.

From Rose Park to Glendale, neighbors will gather in schools and community buildings to elect delegates who help decide which candidates move forward in upcoming elections.

These meetings are often small, but they can have a big impact.

If you’re not sure how caucus night works — or where to find your meeting location — we’ve got a quick guide for Westside voters.

What if reading felt less like homework… and more like chocolate cake? 📚

For nearly 20 years in Salt Lake City, the Spanish-language book club Amigos y Libros has gathered readers around one simple idea: reading out of decadence — doing it purely for the joy of it.

Some members grew up speaking Spanish. Others learned it later. Some finish every page. Others just come to listen.

But the conversations — and the friendships — are what keep people coming back.

We tried three slices. All hits. No misses. 🍕
Taverna Pizza is brand new, but it already feels like a neighborhood staple. Crispy crust, quality ingredients, and a vibe that works for game night or date night. Located on the edge of the Westside, it’s a place that already feels like a neighborhood staple.

The 2026 legislative session has officially begun — the Utah Senate and Utah House gaveled in at the State Capitol on January 20th — and lawmakers hit the ground running.

Ahead of the start of the session, state lawmakers who represent the Westside discussed the issues they hope to tackle in the 2026 legislative general session, including homelessness, public safety, immigration, and helping those who are often "disenfranchised" by the current system.

The legislative preview event was held at the Utah State Fairpark and was sponsored by Westside Coalition - SLC.
