The INN Between The INN Between is Utah's end-of-life and medical housing solution for people experiencing homelessness.

We provide a safe and supportive home for people who have nowhere else to live during a medical crisis. The INN Between is Utah's hospice for the homeless, offering a safe and comfortable place where Utah's terminally ill homeless adults can experience the end of life with dignity, receive professional hospice services and be surrounded by compassionate people who care. Our program opened in 2015 to address the tragic history of about 50 people dying on Salt Lake area streets annually. The INN Between needs your support to ensure that homeless individuals can die with dignity. All donations make a tremendous difference to ensuring that homeless individuals can die with dignity in a caring home.

We honor the life of Ron, who passed away at the age of 83.

Ron was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 17 years, serving as a trustee for seven. He enjoyed giving back to his community, crafting, watching sports and movies, and playing card games—as long as he was winning!

In his final moments, Ron had his best friend since 1963 by his side—a beautiful testament to a lifetime of friendship.

We are grateful to have provided Ron with comfort, compassion, and dignity at the end of his life.

We honor the life of Clara, who passed away peacefully at the age of 95.

Clara was a quiet resident and we were grateful for the opportunity to care for her in her final days.

In her final moments, Clara was not alone. A caring nursing student sat by her side, gently playing the guitar as she passed. It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is simply our presence.

We are grateful Clara's final moments were filled with compassion, comfort, and dignity.

We honor the life of Mike, who passed away at just 47 years old after calling The INN Between home,

Mike was a sweet and strong man. Through our time with Mike, we learned that he enjoyed watching sports, loved heavy metal music, and liked spending his time reading and watching TV.

In his final moments, Mike was not alone. Our End of Life Doula was by his side, with his father on the phone as he passed. We are grateful that Mike was surrounded by care, connection, and compassion at the end of his life.

We honor the life of Keith, who passed away at the age of 67 after calling The INN Between home for just 10 days.

Keith was a quiet resident, and though our time with him was brief and we did not get the opportunity to learn much about his life, we were grateful to provide him with a safe and caring place during his final days.

Keith passed peacefully with his loyal dog by his side. He was not alone. He was surrounded by comfort, companionship, and dignity at the end of his life.

We honor the life of Otto, who passed peacefully at the age of 71.

Born in Guatemala City, Otto eventually made Utah his home. Family was at the heart of his life. He was a father of four, grandfather of five, and a father figure to many others. He will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, and willingness to help those he loved.

Otto also had a love for music and enjoyed playing guitar and singing with his family.

We are grateful The INN Between could be part of Otto’s journey and provide care, compassion, and dignity at the end of his life. His family has generously asked that memorial donations be made to The INN Between so others may receive that same care.

We honor the life of DeeAnna, who passed peacefully, surrounded by the compassion and care of The INN Between staff and volunteers.

Though we did not have the opportunity to learn much about DeeAnna’s life, we were fortunate to get to know her spunky, funny, and kind personality. She was a mother of five and enjoyed the simple things that brought her joy—playing Bingo and card games and getting lost in a good Stephen King book.

We are grateful that in her final moments, DeeAnna was not alone. She was surrounded by presence, kindness, and dignity, with someone by her side until the very end.
