Utah Development Academy is a 501(c)3, sports-based youth development organization that uses soccer as a vehicle for social change.

Utah Development Academy (UDA) is committed to building a community organization that delivers youth development programs addressing character and leadership, healthy lifestyles, and academic excellence through soccer-based programming, while establishing a high quality, sanctioned and sustainable soccer club on the west side of Salt Lake City. UDA has a coaching staff consisting of former players with years of experience. All UDA staff coaches are USSF licensed.

Girls & Women in Sports Day is today 💪✨

Led each year by the , this celebration lifts up girls and women in sports and reminds us why these spaces matter. Sports build confidence, strength, and character—helping girls recognize their power and step into leadership on and off the field.

The research backs it up: sports help girls thrive. Girls who play sports report 1.5× higher levels of meaning and purpose than those who have never played.

In our program, we see this every day—in the way girls show up for each other, push through challenges, and grow into confident young women. Reach out to learn how you can support getting more girls out on the pitch. 🖤⚽️✨

Last Saturday, the UDA 07B team made it to the Presidents Cup finals and lost 1–0 to a solid Fire FC team, the only team we had already lost to earlier in the tournament. As competitors, we were disappointed, but it was a good game where we competed hard.

After the match, we took a photo with the Fire team to celebrate what youth sports are supposed to look like: players being their best, competing hard while respecting opponents, and adults there to support the boys. Sports can be a moment of growth when the culture is right, and it was that night.

Comments from parents on both sides mentioned making all the boys take a photo because they’re moving quickly into the next phases of their lives, and they wanted one last photo of their adolescence.

Isn’t that the point of all of this, for the kids? For their future?

After a busy four days down in St. George for Presidents Cup—supporting each other and competing alongside our UDA teams—we finally got a solid recovery day. The teams at Presidents Cup took a campus tour of Utah Tech to get loose, then the 07B boys stuck around, got homework done, and hung out to get ready for a big morning in semi-finals. We may not be known for our consistency in mini-golf skills 😅, but we are headed to the semifinals in the morning. Proud of the way all three teams and families have shown up for each other all week. Let’s finish strong.
