Things got spicy at the Land We Share Summit, and that’s the point. We dug into everything from Indigenous co-management and rural organizing to running for office, protecting watersheds, and what being outside does for our brains.

Then Winona LaDuke had us belly laughing and thinking hard about extraction, courageous advocacy with diapers (ask us about that), and the regenerative future she’s building with her own community. Her advice? When so much of this administration is ugly, get fiercely dedicated to making beauty. Grow something. Build something. Beauty is our superpower against doom.

County clerks are responsible for managing elections in their counties. Your county clerk’s office will have information on voting & dropbox locations, candidates, ballot tracking, important election dates, election results, & more!

If you have ANY election question at all, you can contact your county clerk by calling, going in-person during regular office hours, or emailing them.

San Juan County Update: Our San Juan County organizers have officially registered 900 voters on the Utah portion of the Navajo Nation this year alone!

Throughout the year, our San Juan County organizers travel door-to-door across remote, hard-to-reach communities to ensure rural Navajo residents have access to mail-in voting and can weigh in on important decisions like the future of our public lands. For some residents, the nearest polling location is more than three hours away, making access to mail-in voting especially important.

In total, our team has helped register over 20,000 Navajo voters across the Navajo Nation, helping ensure their voices are included in important national, state, and local decision-making.

On October 2nd we’re asking for one thing: a day. The Land We Share Summit at Westminster University is one big experiment in what can happen when we get people who care about Utah’s landscape into the same place to figure out where we fit in the work ahead.

You’ll hear strategies that are working in other Western states. Experience public-lands-inspired art. Meet people doing fascinating work across Utah and the West. And have plenty of time to grab a drink and keep the conversation going at happy hour.

You don’t have to be a policy expert or professional conservationist to have a role in what happens to these places. You just have to care enough to show up.

We are incredibly excited to announce that Winona LaDuke will be the keynote speaker for the Land We Share Summit, happening on Friday, October 2nd.

Winona LaDuke is an Anishinaabe environmental leader, economist, author, farmer, and organizer. For nearly four decades, she has fought for a simple but powerful idea: the people who belong to a place should have a say in what happens to it.

Throughout her career she has advocated for Indigenous sovereignty, recovering Tribal lands, and building local economies rooted in the health of the land.

There couldn’t be a more important moment for this conversation.
