After years of planning, collaboration, and persistence, 16 communities have officially joined the Community Clean Energy Program (CCEP), giving residents a real choice in a clean energy future! This victory belongs to the local leaders, partners, advocates, and neighbors who refused to give up.

The work ahead is too big to do alone.

Three of the highest-profile elected officials associated with advancing the data center project were defeated in the primary election. Senate President Stuart Adams lost to Stephanie Hollist in a three-way race that was defined by environmental concerns around the data center. Both Box Elder County Commissioners up for reelection, Boyd Bingham and Lee Perry, also lost their races. All three of these officials played a major role in pushing through the data center - and last night they paid the price.

The Stratos data center became a political liability, and voters made sure the officials most closely associated with it paid a price.

Most importantly, thanks to all of you for voting and for your advocacy. These results don’t happen on their own; they’re the product of countless volunteer hours, donor support, conversations at doorsteps, and people willing to stand up for their communities

While local residents in Box Elder County are waiting for the courts to protect their constitutional right to the referendum process, we’re building a team of volunteers who are ready to take action to stop the Stratos Project— including gathering signatures once approved to do so.

This is your official reminder that the Stewardship Utah Book Club gathers tomorrow evening, Wednesday, June 10, at Alpha Coffee Big Cottonwood!
This year feels jam-packed with big questions about public lands, growth, conservation, recreation, and who gets to shape the future of the places we love. That’s why we’re kicking off the series with Marketing the Wilderness by Joseph Wilson, a thought-provoking look at how wilderness has been packaged, promoted, and sold throughout American history, and how those narratives continue to influence public lands policy, outdoor culture, and conservation today.
The goal isn’t to dissect a book so much as to create space for thoughtful conversation with people who care about building a thriving future together.

In a moment of insane data center developement, attacks on democracy, and everyone being way too online, it feels pretty radical to gather in real life.

We’re very pumped to announce the Stewardship Utah Book Club is back! Once a month, we’re meeting at local spots to read and talk about the future we’re building together. Themes throughout the series are public lands, democracy, climate psychology, organizing, clean energy, and environmental health.

We’re kicking things off Wednesday, May 27 at Alpha Coffee Big Cottonwood with Marketing the Wilderness by Joseph Witson, a conversation about the stories we tell around wilderness, the outdoors, and who gets included in those narratives.
