Emery Street Sewer Project Update – October 6
Some good news... the sewer replacement itself is now complete from 700 South to Indiana Avenue, and crews are getting closer to wrapping up the road work.

Beginning Wednesday, October 7, crews will dig several test pits between 700 South and Indiana Avenue to make sure the soil above the new sewer line is properly compacted before paving.

Paving is currently anticipated for October 12–16.
For now, Emery Street remains closed to through traffic from 600 South to Indiana Avenue, with no parking in the construction area. Please continue to follow posted detours.

Hopefully we're getting close to having Emery back!

Salt Lake City will complete several construction projects in the Poplar Grove neighborhood during the 2026 construction season, including street reconstruction on Navajo Street and 600 South, bridge work over the Jordan River Trail, and a sewer project on Emery Street.

MALIALOLE DANCE - PERFORMING AT 2:20 PM

We are Malialole Entertainment. We are currently located in Glendale, Salt Lake City, UT. We teach song, dance, culture and history of our Polynesian culture. Traveling is one of our favorite parts. From California to Massachusetts, we’ve been able to see, compete and experience so many things.

The group takes more modern approaches and draws inspiration from other ethnic groups on Salt Lake City’s richly diverse west side. They throw pop, hip-hop, African and Hispanic music into the traditional soft and strong beats of the Pacific Islander mix.

WestSide Dance is Utah’s first all exclusive youth Ballet Folklorico founded in 1997 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In 26 years, the group had shared the diverse, vibrant, beautiful culture of Mexico with over 500 children! Now accepting new students.

Capybara Club is a jazzy instrumental funk trio based right here in Poplar Grove. Neighborhood residents for the past six years, the group brings a laid-back mix of funky grooves, jazz influences, and chill instrumental music. They’re excited to share their sound with their neighbors and bring some good vibes to Groove in the Grove!

Using live looping effects, she combines classical technique with modern sound engineering to transform her solo cello into an orchestra: each composition begins with a single musical idea and unfolds live on-stage as she layers rhythm, melody, and harmony in real time.
