We do this by providing free vision screenings, working to ensure that people of all ages and backgrounds have access to quality eye care, and disseminating information about eye safety, threats to vision, and available community resources.

At a recent community resource event, we met a woman experiencing homelessness who struggled to see well enough to read street signs or find shelter. After receiving a simple pair of glasses, everything changed. With clearer vision, she was able to access the support she needed and is now living in her own apartment. She shared her story with deep emotion and gratitude- a powerful reminder of how small acts of care can truly change lives.

Join Friends for Sight for our first Pickleball Benefit Tournament on September 26 from @‌10am-3pm at the Sports Mall in Murray. This ladder style (king of the court) tournament is all about friendly competition, connection, and community impact.

There will be food, fun prizes, and a raffle all wrapped into a day full of rallying for a great cause. Every registration helps provide a pair of glasses for a local Utahn, opening the door for each individuals next adventure.

We’re feeling inspired after attending the Salt Lake Chamber Business Women’s Forum 2026 this past Tuesday, “The Courage to Connect: Leadership That Unites.”

Thank you for inviting Friends for Sight into such a meaningful space. It was an energizing day of learning, connection, and shared purpose with so many incredible leaders across our community.

A special thank you to guest speaker Mindy B Young for her powerful perspective on community-based impact. Her insights on strengthening communication through kindness, understanding, and deep listening truly resonated with our mission. The reminder to ground decisions in shared values felt especially meaningful as we continue working to help children explore their world and next adventures through new lenses.

We’re always grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn, and grow alongside others who believe in building stronger, more connected communities. Here’s to continuing the work together.
