GREENbike (SLC Bike Share) is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization that operates the network of fully automated, touchscreen bike share stations that are available for short-term checkouts. Bike Share systems differ from bike rental in a few distinct ways. When you rent a bike, you are in possession of that particular bike for one or several days. A bike share membership allows you to take ANY BI

KE from ANY STATION, AS MANY TIMES as you like for however long you are a member. Bike Share is designed to get you from point A to point B and back again while removing the fear of theft and eliminating the need for a lock or maintenance equipment. Annual passes include an RFID card that allows you to simply tap the bike of your choice to unlock it. Annual members also receive a free helmet and an online profile that logs each members calories burned, Co2 avoided and $'s saved in gas. There are 42 bike share stations placed strategically throughout downtown Salt Lake City. More than 500+ bikes have been dispersed throughout the system to create a network of high-end, commuter-friendly bicycles designed to make getting around downtown Salt Lake fun and easy. Our long-term strategy is to have multiple satellite or "stand-alone" systems throughout Utah. These systems would be connected by rail and a single card would allow members to check out a bike in SLC or Ogden.
