Utah Afterschool Network Our Vision: Every child in Utah has access to high-quality afterschool programs.

UAN and its partners believe high quality out-of-school time programs improve outcomes for children and youth in a variety of ways. Participation in quality programs improves academic achievement, school attendance, student engagement, work-study habits, and social and emotional development. Additionally, afterschool programs keep kids healthy and safe, support working families, and foster strong

links among schools, families, and communities. The supports and services that high quality out-of-school time opportunities provide are especially important for low-income and minority youth who often lack sustained access to enriching activities and academic support during non-school hours.

The Utah Afterschool Network is excited to launch our first annual Lights On Afterschool Youth Art Contest!

We’re inviting youth to show us what makes afterschool special through their creativity. Whether it’s teamwork, learning, friendship, or your favorite afterschool memory, we want to see it!

Are you passionate about youth development and creating impactful learning experiences?

UAN is looking for a Professional Learning Systems Coordinator to help shape training, conferences, and growth opportunities for Utah’s afterschool community!

In this role, you’ll support statewide initiatives—including our annual conference, regional trainings, and eLearning Institute—that reach 3,500+ educators serving over 52,000 Utah youth each year. 🎓✨

What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in youth development, event planning, or marketing
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• A passion for high-quality afterschool and summer programs

💼 Position Details:
• Type: Full-time, non-exempt
• Pay: $21.50/hour ($44,720/year)
• Location: Hybrid options available
• Benefits: Employer-paid health insurance, 401(k) contribution, paid holidays, and more!

In Utah, 348,357 children want access to afterschool and summer learning programs, but 5 in 6 youth who would participate don't have access to a program. The need for high-quality learning opportunities beyond the school day has never been greater.

The Call for Proposals is 💫 OPEN 💫 for the 22nd Annual Jump Start Afterschool Conference happening on October 9th and 10th, 2026!

We are excited to see the amazing classes and wealth of knowledge you can bring to afterschool professionals from across the state. We are looking for presentations across all kinds of subjects from STEM and lesson planning, safety and wellness for youth and adults, resources for families, leadership and administration, grant writing, and more!

We welcome you to submit multiple proposals and encourage you to get them in soon via the link in our bio!

🎉 In partnership with the Department of Workforce Services TANF Office, the Utah Afterschool Network is excited to announce the Afterschool Program Gap Fund (AGF)!

The AGF was created to help address the growing need for out-of-school time programs across Utah during a time of increased competition for funding.

During the 2026 Legislative Session, funding was appropriated to the Utah Afterschool Network through House Bill 2 (Lines 548–557) to support Utah afterschool and summer programs and help fill critical funding gaps.
