The Utah Afterschool Network team is excited to share that, thanks to your continued support, outreach, and advocacy, we have secured $2.9 million to expand access to afterschool programs across the state!

This appropriations request, sponsored by Representative Angela Romero, received strong support from the Economic and Community Development Committee during the 2026 legislative session.

These funds will be released later this spring as a competitive grant, administered by UAN, to support programs in the FY 2026–27 school year. We are currently working with the state TANF office to finalize the scope and requirements, and will share updates on the request for proposals as soon as they are available. No additional details are available at this time.

After years of advocacy, program visits, and support from youth, families, community members, and state and local leaders, this represents a major win for afterschool programs in Utah!

Thank you for helping make this possible!

A new program designed to help people experiencing homelessness access resources and support is launching this week, designed to better connect the homeless population with mental health, addiction recovery, housing resources and many more services.

Known as Project Bridge, the program will connect individuals with resources specific to their needs, rather than a broad spectrum solution that may not fit an individual's unique homeless experience.
