This lovely message came to Carol’s attention from a very long time member and adopter :

“With heartfelt gratitude to the entire team. You are a remarkable group of ladies. God bless you all.”

Dear friend,

I wanted to send you a heartfelt thank‑you for the kindness and courage you show in caring for basset hounds who need a safe place. What you do is not small. Opening your home to dogs who are confused, hurting, or simply waiting for someone to see their worth takes a rare kind of strength.

And then, when you help them find their forever homes, you do something even harder—you let them go. That takes a different kind of courage, the kind that puts the dog’s future ahead of your own heart. It’s a beautiful act of love.

Please know that your compassion matters. It matters to the dogs who feel safe because of you, and it matters to people like me who are deeply grateful for the goodness you bring into the world.

Thank you for everything you do.

With sincere appreciation,
Robin

✨ Meet Sparky! ✨

At a little over a year old, Sparky is a handsome little tri-colored Bagel — a Basset Hound Beagle mix. Although, if we’re being completely honest, we think there may be a little something else mixed in there too! Whatever his recipe is, it turned out pretty darn cute.

Sparky has a fun, happy personality and truly enjoys the company of other dogs. He loves to play and would probably do best with a smaller group of canine friends rather than a large pack.

He’s in great health and is already using the dog door in his Foster Home. At around 40 pounds, he’s a nice, manageable size — big enough for a good cuddle, but small enough that he won’t take up too much room on your sofa or in your bed. We make no promises about how much room he’ll think he deserves!

Sparky is one of those little guys who can simply spark a smile. He has an excitement for life that’s hard not to catch, yet when playtime is over, he’s perfectly happy settling in for some love and cuddles.

Bright, playful, affectionate and just the right size, Sparky could be the little spark your family has been missing. ❤️

UPDATE Bam Bam aka Stella has been adopted!!!

Bam Bam, aka Stella

Age: 1 year, 2 months
S*x: Female
Size: Medium
Breed: Basset Hound

What We Know So Far

This girl is all Basset!

Bam Bam, aka Stella, is a young girl with plenty of personality and, like many Basset Hounds—especially the little girls—a mind of her own. She will benefit from some continued training, guidance, and consistency as she settles into her new routine.

This beautiful little girl is currently living in a home with a dog door and is learning the ropes.

And when she’s finished doing things her own way? She loves to cuddle—and she is very good at it.

Canelo

Age: 10 months
S*x: Male
Size: Medium
Breed: Bagel — Basset Hound/Beagle mix
Color: Red and white

What We Know So Far

Canelo is a charming little red-and-white Bagel with that wonderful combination of Basset Hound personality and a little extra Beagle energy and stamina.

This cute little one is playful, energetic, and loves toys, fetch, walks, and time running around the yard. He has also done well with children and other dogs.

Canelo occasionally shows some resource guarding, so feeding separately is a good idea. He would likely be happiest in a home with another friendly dog to keep him company and give him a playmate.

At only nine months old, Canelo is still very much a youngster, so continued training, consistency, and guidance will help this fun little guy grow into a wonderful companion.
