The Midwives College of Utah is a premier, MEAC-accredited midwifery program. Earn your degree right from your hometown, anywhere in the world!

MCU offers a unique distance education program. THERE IS NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT TO GET YOUR MIDWIFERY DEGREE Bachelor Science in MidwiferyMaster of Science in MidwiferyThough there are other online groups made up of past, present and aspiring MCU students, this is the only Facebook group moderated by MCU staff. Lexxus Carter, a Phase 1 student, created a compelling video for an assignment for MCU’s Intro to Midwifery course. She shares her grandmother’s experiences birthing in Cook County Hospital in the 1970s, reflecting on how midwifery care could have reduced discrimination and gaps in care.

Stories like these remind us that, in order to create a better future for reproductive care, we must look back and acknowledge the past, both globally and personally.

Congratulations to MCU student Breana Espinoza, a recipient of NACPM’s annual Tanya Khemet Taiwo (TKT) Midwifery Student Scholarship.

The TKT Scholarship is an initiative to grow the number of Black and Indigenous midwives in the CPM workforce. More specifically, it provides $5,000 individual awards for tuition and related educational expenses to second- and third-year Black and Indigenous midwifery students enrolled in MEAC-accredited programs.

The Fund is a celebration of the legacy of Dr. Tanya Khemet Taiwo as NACPM’s longest-serving Black woman on its Board of Directors, as well as an exemplary community health innovator, epidemiologist, researcher, and midwifery educator.

Thank you to NACPM for providing this scholarship and impacting the growing of the midwifery workforce in this country!
