The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Utah is grateful to share its 2025 Community Impact Report, providing a summary of ambitious goals and outcomes achieved for local refugee and new American communities in Utah between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025.

Though the IRC in Utah faced challenging federal policy shifts and funding cuts, our work continued. We reached more people in need in 2025 than the prior year, expanded service areas based on community need, and all while helping families navigate increasingly uncertain circumstances.

Our efforts to continue vital services—in 2025 and today—are possible because of the community support we receive. None of us can accomplish this work on our own, but together, we can ensure that our newest neighbors access the tools and resources they need to rebuild their lives in our community.

Last month we spent an incredible evening at our Rebuilding Lives, Elevating Futures fundraising dinner. We heard from community leaders, entrepreneurs, and IRC Staff about the challenges, successes and meaningful programming that goes into uplifting our community.

The International Rescue Committee in Utah is expanding access to English learning through its Vocational ESL (VESL) program. The program assist refugees and new Americans in gaining the skills they need to thrive. From workplace communication to financial and digital literacy, these tailored classes go beyond language to support true self-sufficiency. With 99 learners served and hundreds of instructional hours delivered, students are gaining confidence, connection, and real-world skills!
