UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Tanner Dance Black Box Theatre

The Tanner Dance Contemporary Companies present Under Mysterious Circumstances - a collection of choreography inspired by dreams, myths, and unexplained phenomena. This performance includes original creations by the students as well as by guest artists Rachel Barker, Nathan Shaw, Lauren Gresens and Anne Marie Robson Smock.

Tickets are $10 each
This performance is recommended for ages 8+. Please no babes in arms.

“The Chabrier” danced in 1954 at the Temple Bowling Alley. We were just sent these photos from an alumni that we didn’t have in our archives! If you have any photos you’d like to add to our archives, please email them to [email protected]. You can also drop off a photo drive or images to scan at the Tanner Dance office.

For the dance class, we want to accommodate all levels of dancers! We will be offering two different dance classes, one slower paced class, taught by our incredible Miss Joni and another intermediate/advanced class taught by our amazing Miss Diana.

To help keep everyone safe, Tanner Dance strongly encourages the wearing of masks in our building.

We have two different performances coming up on Saturday, November 13th! First up is our annual Ring Around the Rose performance (one at 11:00am and 1:00pm). This is a wiggle-friendly performances series for children and families to explore the magic of dance. The second performance is Roots and Wings at 7:00pm. In this performance, selected classes from CDT will share original choreography inspired by our pathway from foundation to flight. For tickets visit: https://tannerdance.utah.edu/performances/

Tanner Dance Alumni Spotlight: Mary Margaret Brooks Thompson, Class of 2002

Favorite CDT Memory: There are so many, I’m not sure I could pinpoint just one…but for sure, like everyone else, dancing on the Capitol Theater stage will always be etched on my memory! I also love my memories of dancing with my sisters. Bus rides to Weber. Tickle trains, circle, dance art in Summertime, and so much more.

Favorite CDT dance: I loved them all, but I had a lot of fun dancing “Little Boxes” in 3rd grade.

What are you up to now?
I am busy raising four children, one I get to drive to CDT some days!

I feel like CDT really gave me a creative brain. It taught me to look beyond the surface of something, and into the way it could be interpreted deeper. I also feel like it blessed me with a love and confidence to move, no matter the dance form!
