Salt Lake Valley Chapter remembers September 11th and prays that we can find the way back to the Nation we were on September 12th. • Utah State Society DAR USSDAR remembers September 11th, 2001 on this twenty-fifth anniversary and has hope that we can come together like the Nation did on September 12th, 2001.

Reminder! • National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 DAR Historic Preservation Grants! 🏛️

Each year, the DAR provides funding to chapters and local nonprofits working to preserve historic sites, safeguard documents, and protect cultural treasures in communities across the country.

One recent recipient: The historic Harrisville Train Depot was built in 1901 and is one of few remaining passenger train depots in Michigan’s Northern Lower Peninsula. Situated within viewing distance of Lake Huron, and alongside a working rail line, it’s a true forgotten treasure tucked away within the City of Harrisville. The depot is constructed of locally sourced cut limestone and was designed by esteemed architects in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. At 125 years old, the Depot’s cut stone building is vulnerable to weather damage and other issues. This grant allowed the Friends of the Harrisville Train Depot to stabilize the roof structure and complete strategic interior work which was a key priority to bring the structure to baseline preservation before further damage was incurred.

We are profoundly grateful for their courage, resilience, and selfless sacrifice are woven into the fabric of our freedom. Today—and every day—we remember, we honor, and we remain grateful.

The Utah Daughters thank you for the countless lives that have been protected and the defense of our nation’s shores.

was honored to dedicate our Liberty Tree in Murray Park as part of the America 250! celebration yesterday. The ceremony commemorated our nation’s history while creating a lasting contribution for our community to enjoy for generations. We express our gratitude to Murray City and all of our partners who helped make this project possible. The tree is expected to grow 20 feet tall and 15 feet wide, bringing beautiful pink cherry blossoms to Murray Park!

Let freedom ring as we honor our nation’s 250th birthday, rejoice in her history, cherish our liberties, and remember the sacrifices of our patriots that gave us the many freedoms we enjoy. Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and patriotic 250th Independence Day!

This annual event is part of Read Across America, a nationwide initiative designed to encourage a love of reading in children.
