Livestock Producers Wanted for Texas A&M Research Study

My name is Danial Nayeri, and I am a PhD student in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management at Texas A&M University. I am conducting interviews with livestock producers to better understand experiences and perspectives regarding livestock guardian dogs (LGDs) and predator management.

I am interested in speaking with producers who:
• Previously used LGDs, but no longer do
• Have never used LGDs for some reason

Interviews are confidential and conducted over Zoom, take approximately 30–45 minutes, and participation is completely voluntary.

I am especially interested in hearing a variety of perspectives and experiences, including challenges producers may have encountered when using or considering LGDs.

If you would be willing to participate or would like additional information, please contact me at [email protected] or (707) 630-7090.

Thank you for supporting agricultural and wildlife research.

The way we wear, wash, and care for garments, known as the “use phase”, is one of the biggest contributors to a clothing item’s environmental footprint. Wool naturally performs differently than most fibers, helping reduce that impact in several important ways:

1. Worn more, washed less. Wool garments are typically worn multiple times before washing thanks to their natural odor resistance.
2. Lower wash temperatures. Consumers wash wool at cooler temperatures, using less energy per cycle.
3. Line drying instead of machine drying. Most wool is air dried, saving electricity.
4. Long garment life. Durable wool garments often last years, meaning fewer replacements over time.
5. No microplastic pollution. Wool fibers biodegrade in soil and water rather than contributing to microplastic contamination.
