केदारनाथ सिंह, के सुप्रसिद्ध कवि व साहित्यकार थे। “कुछ सूत्र जो एक किसान बाप ने अपने बेटे को दिए” उनकी कविता संग्रहालय “अकाल मे सारस” का हिस्सा है।
इस कविता मे एक ऐसे किसान बाप को अपने बेटे से संवाद करते हुए चित्रित किया गया है जो उसे आधुनिकता के साथ ही अपनी परंपरा से भी जुड़े रहने की सीख दे रहा होता है। वो भले ही पारंपरिक बातों से बेटे को अवगत तो कराता है लेकिन उसे जबरदस्ती बोझ की तरह ढोने के लिए अपने विचारों को नहीं थोपता है।

अगर घर की बेटी को शिक्षित किया जाता है, तो इससे एक पूरा परिवार शिक्षित बनता है, जिससे समाज में भी साक्षरता आती है।
2001 की जनगणना के अनुसार भारत में पुरुष साक्षरता 76 प्रतिशत और महिलाओं की साक्षरता 54 प्रतिशत थी। वहीं 2011 की जनगणना के अनुसार पुरुष साक्षरता 82.14 प्रतिशत एवं महिला साक्षरता 65.46 प्रतिशत है। जिनमें आन्ध्र-प्रदेश, बिहार, मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, उत्तर प्रदेश में स्त्री पुरुष साक्षरता में 25 प्रतिशत का अंतर हैं। असमानता को दूर करने के लिए महिलाओं की शिक्षा पर ध्यान देना आवश्यक है।

शिक्षा, रोज़गार और बेहतर सुविधाओं के चलते भले ही लोगों को गांव छोड़कर जाना पड़ता है लेकिन जब भी कोई मुश्किल आती है, वही इंसान सबसे पहले गांव को याद करता है।

श्रम एवं रोजगार मंत्रालय की एक रिर्पोट के मुताबिक, कोविड के दौरान 1.23 करोड़ प्रवासी मजदूर जो अपने घर वापस लौटे उनमें से 50 प्रतिशत लोग (61,34,943) उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार और पश्चिम बंगाल से थे. मजदूरों की बड़ी संख्या राजस्थान और ओडिशा भी लौटकर गई थी |
