What a fun night at SOAP's Rocky Horror Picture Show event. Thanks to everyone who came out - it was a blast. I don't know exactly how many people were there, but we went through almost the entire 100 prop bags that we made. We sure appreciate your support. This was great, and Brewvies did a wonderful job hosting us. Awesome costumes from so many people with lots of Dr Frank-n-Furter's in the house!

We had a lot of requests to make this an annual event, and we hope it gets bigger each year. We've already decided we're going to have other events at Brewvies as well.

Thanks to Johnny Harris for sponsoring our prop bags. Thanks also to Michael Aaron/ Q-Salt Lake for providing enough copies to go in all the bags, as well as for many years worth of advertising for Seniors Out And Proud-Utah! Thanks to Trina Suava for the posters and t-shirts; they were a hit! Thanks to Donna Wysinger for the brochures and for all the great articles in the newsletter! And most of all, thanks to everyone who came out, and brought your friends and family! What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Special thanks to The Mildred Berryman Institute for all the work to bring this day to fruition. Thanks also to State Senator Jen Plumb, and City Council person, Chris Wharton, for all the help getting this amazing piece of history in place and showing up for the celebration.

The marker celebrates The Sun Tavern, and Joe Redburn, and is across the street from the location of the original Sun Tavern. It was historic! So many old friends showed up, along with other community leaders, like Nikki Boyer, Chad Call, and the folks from Mildred Berryman Institute, among others.

It was wonderful reminiscing with so many friends, while enjoying a great event to honor our LGBT past. To the Mildred Berryman Institute, you continue to shine a light on our Utah Gay History! Thank you for your work.

This was the 4th annual Antelope Island bike ride. We got stopped by a HUGE herd of bison! We didn't make it all the way to our usual turn around point, but still made almost 22 miles. Gorgeous sunsets and then a nice fire afterward. Another awesome ride in the books!

It's a "proud" moment for Seniors Out And Proud-Utah.

Angie Salot and Deb Hall were both nominated for the Andrus Award. This award was established as AARP's highest honor to celebrate and recognize outstanding volunteers aged 50 and older who significantly improve their communities. It was specifically named after Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus to embody her personal philosophy that "true living comes from giving oneself to others." Thank you AARP for the wonderful event and recognition.

It was an honor to stand with other seniors who do volunteer work. Thank you for the nominations. Congratulations Alice Cipollini, age 80, who was the overall winner and does so much in her community.

Thanks to Kate Nederostek for the pictures and the company of you and Edwin van Stam! Such a fun night.

Big thanks to the LGBT senior community for the love and support we receive for SOAP. We love our community, we love our organization and we especially love the people who have helped make it what it is.
