Such a beautiful day at the Eccles Wildlife Education Center in Farmington to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day yesterday! 🦆🦉🐦⬛🪺
There were blue skies, fluffy clouds, gorgeous views, current and former members of Survivor Wellness / Cancer Wellness House, staff members Dana and Shevonn, and a plethora of visiting and resident bird friends to see and hear on the edge of the Great Salt Lake.
From tree swallows nesting under the eaves to great blue herons nesting on platforms, barn owl babies, red winged blackbirds, yellow headed blackbirds, egrets, coots, cormorants, terns and more - they’re all here and easy to spot. The Center offers bird walks each Wednesday, and you can borrow a pair of binoculars if you don’t have your own.
An easy 30-minute drive from SLC, it’s a great place to start training your legs, eyes and ears while filling your heart and soul!
If you plan to hike Survivors at the Summit, please consider starting with the beautiful 1.6 mile trail there, and moving to more challenging trails over the next 2 months.
Thanks to the Eccles Wildlife Education Center for hosting Survivor Wellness and other remarkable nonprofit organization, including Trails Utah, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, two local Audubon Society chapters (Wasatch and GSL) and more, for this community event, and to those who joined to make it a gorgeous day outdoors and in!
See you on the trail…🏞️
