Family Support Centers of Utah

Family Support Centers of Utah The mission of the FSCU is to strengthen Utah families one community at a time by supporting parents.

To accomplish our mission, each Family Support Center provides its clients with a 24-hour crisis & respite nursery, a 24-hour information and referral service, and a parenting and youth education program. Based on the needs of the particular community it serves, each agency likewise offers additional services, ranging from on-site therapists, lending libraries, and in-home parenting support.

Caregiving is one of the most meaningful things a person can do — and one of the most exhausting. That's where respite care comes in.

Respite care offers caregivers a temporary break while their loved one spends time in a safe, supportive environment. Whether it's a few hours or a few days, that time to rest and recharge can make all the difference — for the caregiver and the person they care for.

Across Utah, our network of Family Support Centers offers respite care and other services designed to strengthen families and reduce the stress that can build up over time.

You don't have to be in crisis to ask for help. You just have to know it's there. If you or someone you know could use a little support, reach out to your local Family Support Center. A little help really can change everything.

We're proud to stand with every child, foster family, and advocate across Utah who shows up for kids every single day.

At Utah Families Statewide Network, we believe every child deserves a safe, loving, and permanent home. This month, we celebrate the incredible foster families who open their hearts and homes.

Whether you're considering becoming a foster parent, looking to support a family near you, or simply spreading the word—you matter in this mission.

Parenting asks so much of you—your time, your energy, your patience. But taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s one of the most important ways you take care of your family.

Self-care doesn’t have to be big or complicated. It can look like:
• Taking a quiet moment to breathe
• Going for a short walk
• Reaching out to a friend
• Letting yourself rest without guilt

And sometimes, it means asking for help.

If you need time to recharge, respite care is available—offering a safe, supportive space for your children while you take the moment you need to reset and care for yourself.

Because when you feel supported and restored, you can show up as the parent you want to be.

You deserve that care, too.
