💡 Want to understand the global engine behind Utah’s economy? The latest report from the breaks it down, and the numbers speak for themselves.

In 2024, Utah exported $18.2B in goods and imported $12.4B. Exports added $8B to state GDP, and over the past decade, they grew 12% — a clear sign of global momentum.

A few standout insights:
• Leading export and import category: primary metal manufacturing
• Computer and electronic product exports fell by 50% over the decade
• Imports in that same category more than tripled, reshaping the trade balance

We kicked off with big ideas from on global diplomacy, got deep on tech + trade with Shigeru Kitamura, former national security advisory of Japan, and leveled up on tariffs + expansion with pros from , PMI Foods, and more.

Then the afternoon snapped: , , and dropped gems on thriving through global chaos. spoke to scaling in Asia, and we wrapped with Utah’s Senate President + Mexico’s Consul General talking trade ties.

💻 The AI track met with espace CDPQ, the venture capital arm of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), to explore Montréal’s start-up ecosystem and gain insights into Québec’s life sciences and fintech sectors.

⛏️ The Critical Minerals track met with Rio Tinto, with operations in both Québec and Utah. The Québec Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests joined to share insights on the region’s mining industry and guide business development opportunities.
