Today, HDA and its Utah affiliates came together to support the victims of the earthquake in Venezuela. Our chapter gathered essential humanitarian aid and delivered it to Vantage who is sending supplies directly to affected communities.

✨ Meet a Member Monday — Lixmer Rivas

Today we are proud to celebrate Lixmer Rivas, an internationally trained dentist from Venezuela, a Registered Dental Hygienist, and an MPH candidate. She served as President of HDA Utah in 2024 and now supports the HDA as Past President Advisor and Co‑Chair of the HDA International Dentist Committee.

As COO of International Dental Pathways, she guides foreign‑trained dentists through research, mentorship, and professional development.

Passionate about oral health equity, public health, and community outreach, she contributes to research that improves access to care for underserved populations and empowers internationally trained dentists pursuing opportunities in the U.S.

A dedicated leader creating pathways for diverse dental professionals. 💙✨

✨ Meet a Member Monday

Today we’re proud to spotlight Dr. Tiffany Velasco, a Peruvian‑trained dentist, Registered Dental Hygienist, and Director of Dental Programs at a nonprofit clinic in Utah, where she works to expand access to oral health care for underserved communities.

She currently serves as Past President of the Utah Hispanic Dental Association (UHDA) and contributes to the chapter’s Outreach Committee, supporting initiatives that strengthen community engagement. Under her leadership, the chapter was awarded HDA Chapter of the Year in 2025, recognizing its impact in outreach, education, and advocacy.

She is deeply committed to oral health equity, supporting foreign‑trained dental professionals, and improving access to quality dental care. As part of the HDA Community Leadership Fellowship Program, she is developing a children’s storybook focused on fluoride education and cavity prevention.

A dedicated advocate for service, leadership, and representation in dentistry. 💙✨



Hoy destacamos a la Dra. Tiffany Velasco, odontóloga formada en Perú, Registered Dental Hygienist, y Directora de Programas Dentales en una clínica sin fines de lucro en Utah, donde trabaja para ampliar el acceso a la atención odontológica en comunidades desatendidas.

Actualmente se desempeña como Past President de la Utah Hispanic Dental Association (UHDA) y forma parte del Outreach Committee, apoyando iniciativas que fortalecen la conexión con la comunidad. Bajo su liderazgo, el capítulo recibió el reconocimiento de HDA Chapter of the Year en 2025, gracias a su impacto en outreach comunitario, educación y abogacía.

Está profundamente comprometida con la equidad en salud oral, el apoyo a profesionales dentales formados internacionalmente, y la expansión del acceso a atención dental de calidad. Today we’re spotlighting Julio Perez, an internationally trained dentist from Peru and a graduate of Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia.

With advanced training in Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry and over five years of experience working as a dental assistant in the U.S., Dr. Pérez continues advancing professionally after passing the INBDE as he prepares to apply to International Dentist Programs.

He currently serves on the Outreach Committee of the Utah Hispanic Dental Association, where he supports and connects Hispanic and internationally trained dental professionals through mentorship and community engagement.

A dedicated future clinician, mentor, and advocate for our community. 💙✨

Today we’re celebrating Dr. Johanna Quintana, an internationally trained dentist from Venezuela and a Registered Dental Hygienist whose journey embodies leadership, service, and community impact.

As Co‑founder of the HDA Utah Chapter and President in 2023, Dr. Quintana helped shape the foundation of our organization—leading community outreach, free dental screenings, and oral‑health education for children across the state.

She is also a strong advocate for foreign‑trained dentists, creating CE opportunities and hands‑on training to help others advance in their professional journey.

Today, she continues her commitment to representation and service as Chair of the Membership Committee, helping grow and strengthen our HDA Utah family.

A true example of passion, resilience, and community leadership. 💙✨
