We’re so excited to invite you to Empanada Fest—a vibrant citywide celebration of culture, creativity, and community centered around one of the world’s most beloved foods. The festival brings together 20 local vendors, live entertainment, and thousands of attendees for a high-energy, family-friendly experience.

We’re especially proud to share that Food Justice Coalition is the only nonprofit participating this year, making this an incredible opportunity to raise funds for our programs! We’ll be selling vegan empanadas starting at $6 and aqua frescas!

Every item you give goes directly into the hands of someone experiencing homelessness. Through our outreach, hygiene kits and essential supplies are distributed in real time to individuals facing homelessness—offering comfort, dignity, and care when it’s needed most.

We need a minimum of 200+ of each item every month to keep showing up consistently.

Scan the QR code to shop our wishlist and send support directly to the community.

Once you open the link, select the item/s you wish to purchase and check out as usual. Your order will be shipped directly to our main office where volunteers will assemble items into individual care kits.

If prompted, sign in to your Amazon account to access the list. If you don’t see it, search for “FJC Outreach List” or Food Justice Coalition in Amazon’s registry search.

Our Free Lunch Program is an immediate resource for people experiencing food insecurity to have access to fresh, nutrient-dense, prepared meals. Meals are dropped off at the client’s preferred address, within Salt Lake County. Currently, there are no income restrictions to participate in the free lunch program.
Meals are dairy-free, halal, and 100% plant-based.

Today’s veggie chicken curry with jasmine rice meals went to the following homeless resource centers:

🍛Gail Miller Resource Center
🍛Pamela Atkinson Resource Center
🍛Family Interim Non-Congregate Housing
🍛Medically Vulnerable People

We have two outreach events serving our unhoused neighbors this month. The first is a resource fair in collaboration with and My Hometown Salt Lake City.

We’ll be providing a delicious meal for approximately 400 individuals. This event is indoors and is available to the public.

Services including but not limited to:
COURT SERVICES
PET SERVICES
BUS PASSES
SHOWERS OF HOPE
LUNCH
AND MORE!

9:30 AM - 12:30 AM
Court will stop taking names at 11 AM

Our Free Lunch Program is an immediate resource for people experiencing food insecurity to have access to fresh, nutrient-dense, prepared meals. Meals are dropped off at the client’s preferred address, within Salt Lake County. Currently, there are no income restrictions to participate in the free lunch program.

New participants must sign up using the Free Lunch Program Application Form on our website under ‘Services’.

We’re incredibly grateful to the team at and for their generous donation of more than 100 hygiene kits during the holiday season when we see the biggest need. These kits were deeply needed and were received with real appreciation by the individuals experiencing homelessness that we serve.

This gift made an immediate, tangible difference, and we’re thankful to The Grand America team for stepping up with care and compassion when it mattered most.

Thank you for being a partner in this work and for helping us meet people’s most basic needs with respect and humanity.
