Fireworks are a summer tradition—but did you know some contain lead and other toxic metals? When they explode, they release fine particles and heavy metals into the air, which can harm our lungs, soil, water, and developing brains—especially in children and pregnant people.

There is no safe level of lead exposure. Let’s protect our health and still celebrate!

Tips for Safer Celebrations:
🚫 Skip backyard fireworks—opt for professional shows (at a distance)
🤖 Choose a drone or laser light show—a beautiful, non-toxic alternative
🪟 Close windows during displays and clean outdoor surfaces afterward
👏🏽Wash hands (especially for kids) after handling items left outside
💭 Stay indoors if you have asthma or other respiratory concerns

Let’s make this summer sparkle—without the toxic fallout.
