One more huge THANKS to our sponsors who donated raffle items for the 9.5 Hours of DISCO Mountain Bike Endurance Race 2 weekends ago! A bunch of people were super stoked to go home with some awesome stuff donated by Sturdy Pine Gear Allora Medical Spa Bertram’s Brewery Heidi Messner Custom Fish and Mountain Artwork Arfmanns and the North Fork Store.

Also, huge thanks to Salmon River Vision Clinic and Cole Insurance for their donations used to help purchase race supplies, and to Bing’s for donating the Start/Finish line banners.

Much appreciation also goes to our venue support sponsors! Salmon River Clinic provided medical support, The Hub of Salmon provided mechanical support, and Mountain Harvest Community Market .harvest and Highlander Beer donated energy snacks and beverages for the racers.

A few more pics from the 9.5 Hours of DISCO Mountain Bike Endurance Race 2 weekends ago, and a huge KUDOS to our top finishers! In the Solo Men’s Category, William Hatch topped the field with 9 laps, even completing all 9 laps in under 8.5 Hours! Sam Sweetser put down the fastest Men’s lap time at an impressive 46:50 (and an estimated 1st lap time of 46:00 if you take out the obstacle-ridden Le Mans start). For the Solo Women’s category, Allana Morrison took home the first place mug with 6 laps, and the fastest Women’s lap goes to Kristen Bryson with a lap time of 1:00:02 (sorry Kristen, we didn’t get your picture!). For the singlespeed riders, kudos to Mark Schafer for putting down 8 laps AND winning the solo “old-guy” category, AND doing it all with a broken crank that was welded to perfection just the night before. CONGRATS to the podium winners at Saturday’s 9.5 Hours of DISCO Mountain Bike Endurance Race! 162 racers in the 9.5-Hour Race rode a combined total of 557 laps of the 11-mile course.

2-person Men’s Team: Eco Hombres (10 laps)
2-person Mixed Team: Where are the twins? (10 laps)
2-person Women’s Team: The Bean Wranglers (5 laps)

3-person Men’s Team: Handlebars (8 laps)
3-person Mixed Team: K-Pax Demon Grunters (9 laps)*
3-person Women’s Team: Hill Yeah Sisters (8 laps)

Solo Men 18 and under: Tarn MacFarlane (5 laps)
Solo Men 19-49: William Hatch (9 laps)
Solo Men 50+: Mark Schafer (8 laps)

And in the Kids Race, 26 young racers age 2 to 11 rode a combined total of 204 laps of the 1/2-mile course in 1 hour. Those kids ROCKED IT!

A few pics from Saturday’s Nine-and-a-Half Hours of DISCO! We had record high levels of stoke this year, very intense competition, and some crazy awesome costumes! All combined to make an incredibly fun day of mountain biking, community, and great trails. Thanks to the 200 participants who joined us for this event from far and wide, all of the volunteers who helped out, and our awesome local sponsors - this would not be possible without all of you! Despite the inch of snow at the venue this morning, the Discovery Hill Trails dried out quickly, and the stoke level is high for the 2026 Nine-and-a-Half Hours of DISCO Mountain Bike Endurance Race! Almost 200 mountain bike racers have traveled from all over the region to ride these Disco trails. It’s gonna be a great day, with some seriously good competition (racing, and crazy costumes too)!

There’s still room in the Kids Race and the Hot Lap Category. Register at the venue (RC Park at Discovery Hill). Kids must be registered by 12:30pm. 9.5 Hour Race starts at 10am. Kids Race is at 1pm. More info on our website.

Trail users! Please be aware that the Nine-and-a-Half Hours of Disco Mountain Bike Endurance Race will take place on the Discovery Hill Trails in Salmon on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00am to 7:30pm. Although the trails will remain open during the race, expect HEAVY mountain bike traffic during this time. The course will be marked with yellow flagging. Visit our website for more information and a course map, or contact us. Spectators are welcome - stop by the start/finish venue at the RC Flyers Park for the best viewing! Join SIMBA and The Hub of Salmon tomorrow evening (Fri 4/24) for a pre-Disco party, and get STOKED for the Nine-and-a-Half Hours of Disco Mountain Bike Endurance Race! Race day is Saturday, and things are looking good! Racers can check in at The Hub on Friday from 7 to 9pm. Join us on the outdoor patio or in the Taproom. Hope to see you there!

The Hub of Salmon is a long time sponsor of SIMBA and the DISCO race. Gonzo and crew will be providing mechanical support at the race venue again this year. Be sure to stop by The Hub for any last minute race needs!
