Rooted in Service

On February 3, 1932, local veterans organized the Sequoyah County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post with an initial membership of 22 veterans.

Those first members created more than a meeting place. They established a tradition of fellowship, service, remembrance, and advocacy that continues through VFW Post 4518 today.

Nearly a century later, we remain committed to honoring those who served, supporting veterans and their families, and preserving the military history of Sallisaw and Sequoyah County.
