The weather was good, and a happy group of cyclists rode the WNEG (USBR7) from Falls Village to Pittsfield on Saturday, 12 July, stayed the night and then back again the next day - a grand total of around 90 miles !

Join us for an Organized Ride: Western New England Greenway!

The ride will be mostly on the Western New England Greenway, US Bicycle Route 7 between Falls Village, CT and Pittsfield, MA.

- Where: Housatonic Valley Regional High School – 246 Warren Turnpike Road, Falls Village, CT 06031 – starting point
- When: Saturday, July 11, 2026 – 9:00 AM kickoff
- Route: Falls Village to Pittsfield, MA (approximately 42 miles, plus overnight)
- Return: Sunday, July 12, 2026
- Cost: Free, simply pay for your own food / lodging

- A gathering / reception from 4 – 6:00 PM is scheduled on Saturday afternoon at Hot Plate Brewing – 1 School St, Pittsfield, MA on Saturday afternoon..

The ride is being organized by the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area’s Bike Committee in cooperation with the Berkshire Bike Path Council. There is no fee to participate in the ride. Riders will be responsible for making their own hotel reservations in Pittsfield and for their own meals. Riders will be expected to go at their own pace and enjoy the scenery and the experience.

the Connecticut Sports Management Group, Inc. announced an invitation to participate in the 2026 Nutmeg State Games Cycling Crit and Time Trials. The event will be on Saturday, June 7th with check-in opening at 8:30am, and it will be held at Walnut Hill Park in New Britain, CT.

Pre-Registration Deadline: Monday, June 5th at noon.

Berkshire Bike Path Council :

Join the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission at upcoming forums to shape future South County cycling routes and connections.

Do you live in or cycle in southern Berkshire County? Give your input as we work to envision a Southern Berkshire Bike Path.

As part of BRPC's regional planning efforts, the organization is hosting four opportunities to provide input on envisioning future trail routes from Sheffield to Lenox, through Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and Lee.

If you live or cycle in these towns, please consider attending one of the meetings below to share your experience and feedback on how to improve cycling connections between the towns.

Berkshire Regional Planning Commission and their consultation partners at Weston & Sampson Engineering will be sharing potential corridors in each town that are good candidates for improved cycling infrastructure (i.e. shared-use paths, sidepaths along roads, or bike lanes).

Your input is an important part of the planning process. Please come to share your experiences and feedback! Invite a friend as well.

· Stockbridge – Town Hall (50 Main St), 4:30-5:30 pm
· Lee/Lenox Dale – St. Vincent de Paul Church (29 Crystal St), 6:30-7:30 pm

Tuesday, June 9th:
· Great Barrington – Mason Library (231 Main St), 4:00-5:00pm
· Sheffield – Christ Trinity Church (180 Main St), 5:30-6:30pm

Each meeting will focus on work taking place in that particular town. Please attend the event that is most relevant to your interests, or that works best for your schedule!
