🥬🧅🌱 Check out these delicious veggies!

Thanks to a generous donation from The Society of St. Andrew - Delmarva and The Somerset County Health Department Gleaning, our kitchen is stocked with fresh lettuce, spring onions, turnips, and collard greens! These nutritious vegetables will soon be making their way onto our lunch menu, helping us provide healthier, fresher meals for the individuals we serve each day.

Fresh produce donations like these make a real difference in our community. We can't wait to turn these beautiful vegetables into delicious lunches for our guests!

🍽️ June Lunch Menu Update! 🍽️

We know many of you look forward to seeing our monthly lunch menu, and we appreciate your patience as we work through a few exciting changes behind the scenes!

As many of you know, our lunch program is growing. We are currently working on several new partnerships and our new Facilities Supervisor is stepping into their role overseeing the program. Because of this transition, we aren't quite ready to release the full June menu just yet.

The good news? ❤️ The same amazing Kitchen Krew volunteers you know and love are still hard at work preparing meals and serving our guests each week!

We've posted the first two weeks of June so everyone can plan ahead, and we'll share the remainder of the month's menu as soon as it is finalized.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, donors, and Kitchen Krew volunteers who make it possible for us to serve hundreds of meals each month to our community.

Our Program Coordinator, Meagan Donophan, recently had the privilege of attending Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) with Sante Eastern Shore Crisis Response.

ASIST is a nationally recognized, evidence-based two-day training designed to help participants recognize when someone may be experiencing thoughts of su***de, engage in a supportive conversation, create a safety plan, and connect individuals with appropriate resources and support.

At H.O.P.E. Inc., this training is especially valuable because we serve many individuals facing homelessness, poverty, mental illness, substance use disorders, and other life challenges. People experiencing crisis, isolation, trauma, or overwhelming circumstances may be at increased risk for suicidal thoughts. Having staff trained in su***de intervention helps ensure we can respond with compassion, confidence, and practical skills when someone needs support the most.

We are grateful for opportunities like this that strengthen our ability to meet people where they are and provide hope, connection, and assistance during difficult times. Thank you to Santé Eastern Shore Crisis Response for offering this important training and for their ongoing commitment to supporting the well-being of our community.

🎉 What an Amazing Day at the H.O.P.E. Inc. Spring Resource Fair! 🎉

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Spring Resource Fair! The event brought together community members, service providers, volunteers, and partners for a day filled with connection, support, and fun.

A special thank you to:

💙 Every organization, donor, volunteer, and attendee who helped make this event possible

We were honored to host 32 organizations offering resources related to healthcare, housing, recovery, employment, legal services, veteran services, family support, financial assistance, and more. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with representatives from organizations including Salisbury-Wicomico Intergraded Firstcare Team (SWIFT), Adopt A Block Outreach, Priority Partners MCO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore, TidalHealth Community Wellness, Seedco , Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services, Maryland Physicians Care, Maryland Highway Safet Office MDOT/MHSO, Recovery resource Center, Green &, Healthy Homes Initiative, Chesapeake Health Care, Infinite Legacy/ The Decision Project, R.I.S.E PROGRAM (DSS), Maryland Legal Aid, Tidal Health Crisis Center, Maryland Coalition of Families, Innovative Renal Care - Salisbury, Maryland Insurance Administration, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children, Wicomico Public Library, Lead 4 Life Inc., Homes 4 Hope Therapeutic Solutions, Wraparound Maryland, Inc., Lion Heart Medicare & Mortgage Protection , HealthPort, Diakonia, Life Crisis Center, Santé, lower shore workforce alliance (LSWA) | Youth Program and Maryland Food Bank.

🍔 Our incredible Kitchen Krew served over 200 free lunches throughout the event.

🍧 Thanks to H.O.P.E., attendees and vendors enjoyed free shaved ice from Tiki Hut throughout the day.

🎶 Music filled the air, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Many attendees commented on how much they enjoyed the addition, and it was wonderful to see people singing along, dancing, and enjoying time together.

🚿 H.O.P.E.'s day shelter remained open during the event, providing respite from the heat for unhoused community members, while our shower trailer offered individuals a chance to refresh and care for themselves with dignity.

🎁 We were thrilled to provide raffle prizes thanks to the generosity of Chick-fil-A, Papa Johns, HealthPort, Priority Partners MCO, Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services, Green & Healthy Homes Initiative, Adopt A Block Outreach, Innovative Renal Care - Salisbury, and several private donors.

Events like this remind us how strong our community is when we come together. Thank you for helping us connect individuals and families with resources, support, hope, and opportunity.
