Chesapeake Housing Mission CHM is a non-profit organization committed to providing critical home repair services. Our Christian Mission to help those in need continues to guide our work.

We are a Christian Mission that believes we are called to help one another. Through volunteerism and donations, to date we have successfully helped over 500 families in need in Maryland’s Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties. Most of our projects involve building wheelchair ramps, giving back our clients the freedom and independence to remain in their homes. The demand for our se

rvices has rapidly increased due to the growing aging population and the number in need. Our clients are identified as living below the poverty level and are referred to us by local agencies. Our partnerships with these agencies helps us to locate those with the greatest need and bring donors and volunteers together to help improve the living situations of our clients.

Please join us in welcoming Allison Bescak as Chesapeake Housing Mission's new Executive Director.

Allison has officially joined our team, and we are excited to have her guiding our organization into its next chapter. She brings a heart for service, a commitment to our mission, and an appreciation for the volunteers, donors, community partners, and supporters who make our work possible.

Because of people like you, Chesapeake Housing Mission continues to help local residents remain safer, healthier, and more independent in their homes. We look forward to all that lies ahead and are excited to have Allison helping shape the future of Chesapeake Housing Mission.

We only have 15 volunteer team build dates remaining for 2026.

If your group has been thinking about serving this year, now is a great time to secure a date.

These projects make a real difference. A ramp means medical appointments are possible. It means independence. It means safer access in and out of the home.

Dates are limited, and once they’re filled, they’re filled.

We’re excited to kick off our 2026 build season with projects starting in March!

We are off to a strong start with 7 volunteer teams scheduled in March, 20 in April, and 15 in May. It’s incredible to see so many groups ready to roll up their sleeves and serve our neighbors.

Build season is one of our favorite times of year. There’s nothing better than seeing a team come together to make a home safer and more accessible.

Do you enjoy hands-on work and making a real difference in your community? Chesapeake Housing Mission is looking for Operation Assistants to help complete home accessibility projects for neighbors in need.

🛠️ Some carpentry or hands-on experience is helpful
👥 Work independently or alongside volunteer teams
🏡 Projects may include wheelchair ramp construction, or installing steps, handrails, and other safety improvements
📅 Flexible schedule — choose the projects and dates that work for you
