Today, the Rowan County Young Professionals had the honor of stocking the closet at the Livingstone College H.O.P.E. Office.

The Livingstone College H.O.P.E. (Healing, Opportunity, Preparation, and Empowerment) Emancipation Project provides teens aging out of foster care with the opportunity to pursue a college education, and we are proud to support its work.

Each year, our holiday party includes a service component in which members pay it forward by bringing gifts for a local mission we believe in. This year, our steering committee unanimously chose to support the H.O.P.E. Project, and our members delivered. With about 45 attendees, we collected hundreds of essential items that college students should not have to worry about, such as laundry detergent, hygiene products, socks, deodorant, and more.

Thank you to everyone who donated. Your generosity will be felt and appreciated for months to come.

Congratulations to Gemale Black on being sworn in as a member of the Salisbury City Council. This milestone reflects his ongoing dedication to the community and his strong commitment to serving the people of Salisbury.

We commend him for the hard work, professionalism, and integrity he brings to every role he undertakes. We’re also grateful for his involvement with the Young Professionals Steering Committee, where he helps inspire and support the next generation of local leaders.
