DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Program Administrator, classroom teachers - plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provide an
atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student.
Implementing instruction in a manner consistent with the goals and mission of P.A.L.A. including understanding, modeling and fostering independent thinking skills and creative problem-solving skills. Develops and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: The list below includes, but is NOT limited to all duties
• Weekly plan and implement lessons
• Assist with daily school assignments
• Uses technology as an integral part of the instruction provided by P.A.L.A.
• Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order
in the classroom in a consistent and fair manner
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by policy.
• Work effectively with administrators, colleagues, and parents with respect
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
• Attend program meetings, activities inside and outside instructional day for PD,
accommodate patrons or support extracurricular activities.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES:
• High School Diploma with 3yrs or more of professional childcare or school-age student experience.
• Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrator.
• Be dependable, responsible, and accountable
• Be physically able to carry out assigned duties
• Be on the job regularly
• Understand and apply the teaching/learning process
• Experience knowledge with technology
• Continue and Professional Development
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES:
• A.A. Degree or BA Degree in Education/ Social Work
• Maryland State Certification
