Brown-Fisher Association

Brown-Fisher Association The Brown-Fisher Association, Inc. Celebrate that you are part of an extended family. Join the Brown-Fisher Association!

is 501(c)3 non-profit corporation formed in 1994 by the Brown and Fisher families whose ancestors migrated down the Great Wagon Road from PA to settle in the Piedmont of North Carolina. The primary aims of the Brown-Fisher Association have always been to promote family history, to keep genealogical records and to plan an annual reunion. Our ancestors were hard-working farmers and merchants trying

to establish a community, and they needed the cooperation of their families to succeed in their efforts. Your participation, interest, financial support and ideas are vitally important as the Browns and Fishers continue to preserve their heritage and family ties.

Have you considered becoming a Board Member of the Brown-Fisher Association? If so, contact us - or come to the reunion this weekend!

Your work now could have a lasting impact for future generations.

The members of the Brown-Fisher Association are believers in families, their impact on our past and their importance to our future. Our goal is to honor our Brown and Fisher ancestors and to set examples for our descendants who we hope will carry on our traditions and family reunions/annual meetings.

Additionally, our goal is instilling the importance of preserving family heirlooms and properties such as the historic 1766 Michael Braun House, owned by Rowan Museum, Inc. which manages day-to-day operations of the house and grounds.

Looking forward to this weekend!

Due to the weather forecast, we have made the decision to cancel the Epiphany at the Old Stone House event. Since we have cancelled the last several years due to poor weather, we hoped the weather would have been nicer. Unfortunately, the cold and rainy forecast prompted several of our reenactors and musicians to cancel. Our next event at the Old Stone House will be April 6th. We hope that everyone has a safe and warm weekend!

Remember this? Since the 1960s, the pink caretaker's house and its occupant(s) went hand and hand with the 1766 Michael Brown House in eastern Rowan County. That all changed 4 years ago when the House's owner, Rowan Museum, demolished the house and adjacent carport, along with a derelict workshop deeper in the woods. The slate has been wiped clean, so to speak, waiting to break ground on a new Visitor's and Education Center. Come join us at our reunion on Saturday, September 17, and see for yourself!

Time is running out on your opportunity to give the gift of family history this holiday season. We have a very limited supply of the authentic 1990s Old Stone House resin ornaments, suitable for year-round display using the included stand or for hanging on your family Christmas tree. These ornaments are collector's items as we currently have no plans to produce more. We also have a limited number of our family cookbook, also from the 1990s, entitled 'Family Favorites'. Lastly we offer pen and ink prints of both Michael Brown's Old Stone House and the Nathan Brown House for sale.

We ship our products via the US Postal Service, which has announced even slower delivery rates this holiday season. Please order NOW to ensure delivery by Christmas. We can also ship directly to your gift recipient upon request.
