Our troop committee organized the 40th Annual South Yadkin Canoe Race. A beautiful Saturday on Mothers Day weekend. Over 50 participants in the race. Our troop helped clean up the finish line at the Hannah Ferry Boat Ramp and camped at Al Wilson's Farm and aerodrome.

Our troop had a BIG weekend.

1) Weld the the Eagle Court of Honor for Eli Starkey! Way to go Eli our latest EAGLE!
2) Served as the color guard at the Relay for Life at the Rowan County Fairgrounds.

We had a wonderful Blue and Gold Banquet last night to honor our Cub Scout's advancement. Thanks to Dawn Ranes our fantastic Cubmaster, all all Den Leaders, and parents that made the event a success. We also bridged 4 scouts into the Scout Troop. The Scouts organized a puppet show to tell the story of the Thunderbird our troop's namesake.

Our troop and pack participated in Scouting for Food last weekend. Thanks to our friendly and generous neighbors in Chestnut Hill and surrounding neighborhoods. We were able to collect almost 500 lbs of food for Rowan Helping Ministries to distribute in our community.
