Last weekend we camped in Chesapeake Virginia, swam in the Ocean at Sandbridge VA, and saw the Blue Angels at the annual Naval Air Station Oceana Airshow. It was a GREAT time!

Our troop held our Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops last weekend to train our youth leadership to be the leaders of tomorrow. We learned the Principles of Scouting, The Scouting Program, Leadership Skills, Leadership Roles and Responsibilities in Scouting America and played lots of team-building and leadership games.

Troop 448 attended the Young Eagles program at the Mid Carolina Regional Airport. Many thanks to Al Wilson for taking us up!

Our troop had a great time at the Salisbury National Guard Armory last week! Our Troop joined 200 scouts to learn more about aviation and the National Guard for the aviation merit badge. Thanks to the our Council and the National Guard for organizing such a great event.

We had a great time at Camp John J. Barnhardt, our troop and our friends at Troop 186 based in Charlotte participated hard in the Scout-craft and Wizardry Competition and brought home 1st Place. Lots of merit badges, scout skills, and fun.

Our troop had a blast cycling the New River Trail State Park in Virginia from Fries to Max Meadows VA. Fun in the new river and a 23 mile bike trip and camp out! Way to go scouts!

Last week our troop helped clear invasive wisteria vines for Horizon's Unlimited RSS and cleared culverts for the Fred Stanback Jr. Ecological Preserve at Catawba College. Making a difference!

Our troop committee organized the 40th Annual South Yadkin Canoe Race. A beautiful Saturday on Mothers Day weekend. Over 50 participants in the race. Our troop helped clean up the finish line at the Hannah Ferry Boat Ramp and camped at Al Wilson's Farm and aerodrome.

Our troop had a BIG weekend.

1) Weld the the Eagle Court of Honor for Eli Starkey! Way to go Eli our latest EAGLE!
2) Served as the color guard at the Relay for Life at the Rowan County Fairgrounds.
3) Worked on our canoeing skills at John Rink's Lakehouse!

It was a great Saturday with troop 448/4448!

Last weekend we had a great time at the Old Stone House Camporee where we learned about America's history and the history of settlement in Rowan County. Hanging out with our fellow Gold Rush District troops was GREAT.
