Medicaid—known as MassHealth in Massachusetts—is said to be eyed for big budget cuts by Congress and the new administration in Washington.

You can help defend Medicaid in two ways:
• Join the National Day of Action to Defend Medicaid on Thursday – see the information below shared by Health Care for All.
• Send profiles to BCIL on how Medicaid/MassHealth helps you. We need only a paragraph or two on what MassHealth provides for you (PCA services, primary care, medications, durable medical equipment, mental health services, etc.) and why that’s important to you. Listing any disability or health condition you have and your age would be helpful, though it’s fine if you wish to by anonymous. The stories will be shared with members of Congress—which we did the last time Medicaid was under attack in 2017. Please send to Bill Henning at BCIL at [email protected].

Join National Day of Action on February 6 to Defend Medicaid!

Medicaid is a lifeline for 80 million Americans. In Massachusetts, MassHealth covers over 2 million people – that’s almost 1 in 3 residents, including nearly half of all children and over 480,000 seniors and people with disabilities. MassHealth is also a key financial pillar for the doctors, health centers, hospitals, and clinics we all rely on.

Right now, the Medicaid program is under threat from Congress. This Thursday, February 6th, Health Care For All and BCIL will join advocates nationwide in urging Congress to protect Medicaid.
