Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA

Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA Since 1908, your YMCA has served as a center of social and recreational activity, as well as a place of hope that has changed many lives.

The Cannon Memorial YMCA includes 3 branches in Cabarrus County: West Cabarrus, Kannapolis, and Harrisburg. These YMCAs strengthen the foundations of our community through well-being and fitness, camps, family time, swim, sports and play, and other activities for people of all ages, incomes and abilities. We’re more than just a place to work out. At the Y, we help build a healthy spirit, mind and

body for all with the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility at the heart of everything we do. With a commitment to nurturing youth development, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive.

🎉 Happy YMCA Founder’s Day!🎉
182 years ago, a small group of young people in London sparked an idea that would grow into a global movement - a place for belonging, wellness, and community for all.
Today, the Y is still where people find connection, purpose, and the chance to become their best selves.
From 1844 to 2026 (and beyond) there’s no place like this place.
We’re a family. A support system. A force for good.
Share how the Y has shaped your life. Tag us and share your Y story to celebrate 182 years of community!

DYK 88% of child drownings occur with at least one adult present?
Take the pledge to put your phone away when near the water this
summer and always assign a water watcher who is undistracted by
phones, conversations, reading or alcohol.

Checking your phone may seem like a quick task, but it can quickly turn
into a major distraction—and distractions around the water can have
major consequences. Remember: Phones Down, Eyes Up™, while at
the pool, lakefront, or ocean.

the layers of protection you can put in place to help keep kids safe
around water.

✨ Thank You for an Incredible 19th Annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 19th Annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast at the Laureate Center in Kannapolis. It was a powerful and meaningful morning of prayer, worship, and unity as we gathered to Seek Him in All Generations.

We are deeply grateful to our speakers and prayer leaders, including:
• Kirk Beard – Prayer for Government
• Pastor Brian Duncan – Prayer for Troops
• Alan Thompson – Prayer for First Responders
• Chip Dobner – Prayer for the Church & Time of Decision
• Hope Oliphant – Prayer for Families
• Pastor Shane Roberts – Prayer for Schools
• Judge Will Long – Testimonial for Prayer

Thank you to our Praise Team, led by Dr. Doug Crawley, for guiding us in worship, and to Jamie Morgan, Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA CEO, for welcoming us and blessing the service.

A huge thank-you to our Presenting Sponsor, Jacqueline Tucker, along with every volunteer, planning committee member, and sponsor who made this event possible—especially our Christian Emphasis Committee for their dedication and leadership.
Because of you, this tradition continues to unite our community in faith, gratitude, and hope. 💙
