After an incredible summer of serving our community, our full-time team came together for a well-deserved cookout to celebrate all that we accomplished together.

From welcoming new members and supporting families to leading programs, camps, classes, and community events, our mission comes to life because of the countless hours, passion, and dedication our staff pours into serving others every day.

🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️ The Countdown Is On! 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏊

Race Day for the West Cabarrus YMCA Kids Triathlon is almost here, and we can't wait to see our young athletes cross the starting line on Sunday, August 9th!

✅ Race Starts: 9:00 AM
✅ Transition Area Opens: 7:00 AM
✅ Transition Area Closes: 8:30 AM

Now is the perfect time to start getting race-day ready! Here's a quick checklist for participants:

🏊 Swim Gear • Swimsuit or tri-suit
• Swim cap
• Goggles
• Towel
• Flip-flops or sandals

🚴 Bike Gear • Race-ready bike
• Helmet (required!)
• Water bottle
• Running shoes

🏃 Run Gear • Running shoes
• Comfortable athletic clothing

💡 Race Day Tip: Set up your transition area before the race begins so you're ready to move smoothly from the swim to the bike and then to the run!

Whether this is your child's first triathlon or they're a seasoned racer, we're excited to cheer them on every step of the way. 🎉

Less than two weeks until race day! Start gathering your gear, practice those transitions, and get ready for an unforgettable experience at the Y!

Ready to make a difference, build leadership skills, and spend your days by the pool? The YMCA is looking for energetic, dependable lifeguards to join our team—and we have immediate openings available!

✅ Starting pay: $13/hour
✅ Minimum age: 16 years old
✅ American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification preferred, or we'll help you get certified!

Interested in becoming certified? Lifeguard certification classes are available, and class fees are reimbursed after completing the hiring process and working 100 hours.
