I'm proud of Chariton County and honored to be a small part of it!

Most people reach a milestone like this and celebrate. With this one, we’re not even sure how to act.

Over the past eight years, Larry’s Warriors Foundation has officially disbursed $250,000 to cancer warriors across Chariton County since the first checks were cut on December 26, 2017. That number represents real people, real families, and real moments when help was needed most.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this cause and trusted us to build and operate this foundation. While we hate that such a need exists, we are deeply grateful for every person, business, and volunteer who has helped turn this idea into a meaningful resource for our community.

✨ Home Tour with Heart — Supporting Larry’s Warriors ✨

As we get ready for this year’s Home Tour, we want to pause and share the incredible impact this event — and our community — has made. Thanks to the generosity of families who open their doors and the supporters who walk through them, Larry’s Warriors Foundation has now topped $240,000 given to local cancer warriors since our first check was written in 2017. This is just one of the events that has helped fuel the mission of Larry's Warriors over the years.

How your support helps:
🔹 We began by giving $250 at diagnosis, followed by monthly mileage checks until reaching $1,000.
🔹 Today, we offer a full 3-year support program:
• Year 1: $1,500 (plus an additional $500 Ingram Trust Fund grant for anyone undergoing more than two weeks of radiation)
• Year 2: $1,500
• Year 3: $1,000 if still in treatment
🔹 And in August, we expanded our mission again — offering a $1,000 grant for anyone seeking treatment at a major research hospital (Barnes, Mayo, M.D. Anderson, etc.), no matter where they are in their journey, whether it’s year 1 or year 10. This is in addition to our 3-year program.
🔹 This year, we gave our first checks to children battling cancer — a heartbreaking moment but important support made possible by this community.

Nine families have graciously opened their homes and their hearts for this tour to help fuel our mission. ❤️

And new this year — thanks to some incredibly talented ladies who love to quilt — handmade quilts will be given away as door prizes! You’ll receive one entry ticket at each home you visit.

All event details are listed on the flyers in this post and included in every advance ticket packet. Tickets are available ahead of time or at each home the day of the tour.

👉 When you step inside these beautifully decorated homes, you’re also stepping into a mission that lifts up local families during the hardest battles of their lives.

We can’t wait to see you on the tour — and we thank you for helping Larry’s Warriors continue its powerful work. 💛🎗️

Larry’s Warriors Foundation Presents: Christmas Lights Bingo Kits

Get ready for a festive night of family fun! Beginning November 21, Larry’s Warriors Foundation will offer Christmas Lights Bingo Kits available for pickup at The Garden Gallery and The Bistro & Coffee in Salisbury, and Sherry’s Home Cooking in Brunswick.

Each $20 kit includes:
✨ 2 Bingo cards
✨ 2 stampers
✨ 2 hot chocolates (redeemable at Sherry’s or The Bistro)
✨ A commemorative Christmas tree ornament
✨ Hours of family fun while you cruise around enjoying holiday lights

All proceeds support Larry’s Warriors Foundation and their mission to assist families in their battle against cancer.

We regret to share that the Ribbon Walk originally scheduled for this Saturday during the Salisbury Pumpkin Festival has been canceled. Due to an unexpected personal matter, I am unable to attend, and I don’t feel it’s right to place the entire responsibility on Mariska.

We appreciate everyone who had planned to participate and support Larry’s Warriors Foundation through this event. Your continued encouragement means the world, and we look forward to walking together at future Ribbon Walks as we honor survivors, remember loved ones, and support those still fighting.

We know it is going to be a little warm today but we will try to keep you in the shade as much as possible. We are set up in front of the Farmer's Market and will take registrations throughout the day. We will start wheels about 15 minutes after the parade (we think around 3 pm. Walkers will start 15 minutes after. Come join us and help support Chariton County Cancer Warriors every step of the way.

No more bingo cards — instead, choose to track your progress with your phone or a hard copy ribbon list. Walk or ride, it’s your choice! Starting with Sterling Price Days, you can earn a collectible patch for each event you attend. Every step (or wheel turn) supports our cancer warriors.
