Natalie and Michayla two of our Equine Assisted Learning Facilitators, welcomed one of our amazing volunteers and her husband last week for a wonderful, personalized Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) session!
We started with an orientation in the barn, getting to know the horses, learning about their behaviors, and understanding how horses communicate. Then we headed out to the arena for some hands-on learning with their teacher, Blue!
Blue is our Teacher of Clarity. She reminds us how important it is to be clear in our communication, our intentions, and our expectations. Horses respond to what we communicate through our body language, energy, and consistency. Blue helps us recognize that when we are clear with ourselves and others, we can build stronger connections and better understanding.
Through our time with the horses, we have opportunities to explore communication, trust, boundaries, self-awareness, and personal growth.
Every horse has something to teach us, and every session is a little different. Sometimes the most meaningful lessons happen when we slow down, listen, and let the horses lead the way.
At the end of the session we ask What did you learn from your teacher?
They wrote:
- The importance of being intentional with energy and actions.
- The horse knows how I am
The horse is reflection of how I am with my wife
I need to lead authentically , the most effective way to lead the horse.
