Dorchester County, MD - Illegal dumping may seem like a minor offense to some, but law enforcement in Dorchester County wants residents to know it carries real consequences. It harms the environment, creates dangers along local roads, and costs taxpayers thousands of dollars to clean up.

This past Earth Day I met with 4 students from Salisbury University to clear the area near the Moose Lodge. This is probably getting close to my 20th time clearing litter with groups from SU. I went back through photos going back to 2020 when I began walking to lose weight. The Faunce Foundation was created in memory of my parents Sandra & Irvin Faunce. They showed my brother Glenn and I the United driving through this beautiful country. Back in the 70’s litter just didn’t exist in National Parks. Today we need to educate from a very young age that litter is doing terrible damage to our incredible planet and they can stop it.

I do want to thank all the volunteers and the people who probably donated supplies greater than 10,000 bags can hold between 3 and 5 buckets 30,000 to 50,000 buckets if litter over 5 years time.

Yesterday this area was filled with plastic and litter. Thanks to the local champions against litter, Wicomico Clean . It’s just a a field but it looks better without plastic seen all over.
