Monthly meetings held

Washtenaw County's population is approximately 350,000. Accepting national and state demographic projections, there are an estimated 35,000 caregivers in the county. Forty seven percent of the county’s “caregiver's” are dutiful family, friends or neighbors who do not see themselves in such a role and rarely seek help. Though they are well meaning, they are usually unaware of available support serv

ices such as transportation, nutritional care, financial counseling, home safety, respite and home care. This event is sponsored by the Washtenaw County Consortium on Aging, a collaborative of public agencies, private local businesses, and individuals interested in networking and advocating for senior issues in Washtenaw County. Membership is open to all. Meetings are:
Day........2nd Thursday of each month

The Consortium on Aging hosts one event each year. Proceeds are offered to local non-profits or groups with unmet needs that relate to area seniors. The grants given by the Consortium on Aging are an opportunity to receive a requested amount. The Consortium has awarded over $16,000 the two years. …
