PFC provides transportation to medical appointments and family support for children living with serious illness on California's Central Coast.

Partnership for Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children with serious illness and the families who care for them. We work alongside families across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties to reduce stress, remove barriers to care, and bring moments of relief, stability, and joy during some of life’s most challenging times. Our programs focus on meeting real, ever

yday needs so families can focus on what matters most—their child’s health and well-being. Through safe and reliable transportation to medical appointments, financial assistance to help families remain housed and connected to utilities, monthly grocery support, and practical resources like diapers, car seats, and school supplies, we provide compassionate, wraparound support tailored to each family’s situation. Because every child deserves care—and every family deserves support.

This past weekend, I ran into a family at a soccer game — one of the very first families we ever served.

It stopped me in my tracks.

Moments like that have a way of bringing everything into focus — how far families have come, and why this work matters so deeply.

As we celebrate 10 years of Partnership for Children, I took some time to reflect on what we’ve learned along the way — about consistency, trust, and what it truly means to support families navigating serious illness.

Partnership for Children is honored to partner with the Monterey Bay FC soccer team ⚽️ as one of the featured nonprofits for their first ever 831 Cares Night and Teddy Bear Toss 🧸 at their match on Saturday April 4th! As part of the partnership, we are able to sell discounted tickets in a section reserved for us and we also receive 50% of ticket sales donated back to us! Our tickets are at a prime location at mid-field and are only $32, which includes fees! 🏟️ Join us in the fun and support Partnership for Children and your local soccer team!

We are honored to be featured in the Spring 2026 issue of Carmel Magazine as we celebrate 10 years of serving children and families across Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties.

What began as a commitment to ensure no family faces the challenges of a child’s serious illness alone has grown into a decade of compassionate support, transportation services, financial assistance, and critical resources for those who need it most.

This recognition belongs to every partner, volunteer, donor, and family who has stood with us over the past ten years. Because of you, our mission continues to grow and reach more children each year.

Long after the celebration ends, the feeling remains.

Our 10-year anniversary brought together people who care deeply about families, who show up with compassion, and who believe in walking alongside others through life’s hardest chapters. Being in that room was a powerful reminder that this work has always been about connection—and always will be.
