The Salinas Valley Rock and Gem Club was formerly The Monterey Bay Mineral Society To encourage the collection of minerals.

Our club is a non-profit organization and our purpose is

To promote study in mineralogy and geology.
2. To provide field excursions to mineral locations.
4. To encourage the study and practice of lapidary arts.

So we stayed at Rice Ranch Rv Park in Quartzsite not to be confused with Rice Ranch North. Rice Ranch Rv Park is the original place us rockhounds always stayed at. It is right across the street from Tyson Wells. The new owners cleaned up the park and put a nice rock wall around it and even put in a pickle ball court!
