Within a single 10-day span, San Jose has been rocked by three severe domestic violence incidents, leaving two women dead and a third surviving an attempted murder.

When it comes to consent, taking extra time to think, communicate,
and decide what feels safe and comfortable is one powerful way to help
prevent ✋🏼 sexual violence in our communities.

Last week, we had the opportunity to join agencies from across the state at the Capitol to advocate for survivors of violent crimes during Advocacy Day. This was a first-time experience for our team, and we were honored to stand alongside more than 200 advocates supporting critical VOCA funding. It was an inspiring and meaningful day.

A special thank you to YWCA of the Mid-Peninsula DAF for providing a grant that made this experience possible.

We also want to thank Assemblymember Dawn Addis and Senator John Laird for taking the time to meet with us and hear about the impactful work being done in our community and why these funds are so critical for agencies serving survivors.

Together, we continue to advocate for safety, healing, and support for all survivors.
