Just one day after her fourth birthday, Yamilet was diagnosed with leukemia, turning her family’s world upside down. What followed was a difficult journey filled with treatments, uncertainty, and nearly a year spent mostly at home, away from school, friends, and many of the everyday experiences of childhood.
Today, at six years old, Yamilet is reaching a milestone worth celebrating. She is responding well to treatment, regaining her appetite, returning to school, and rediscovering the joy of being a kid. From playing outside to participating more with her classmates, each step forward is a reminder of how far she has come.
Throughout her journey, Coastal Kids Home Care has been honored to support Yamilet and her family. Through in-home nursing visits, lab draws, health monitoring, music therapy, massage therapy, and ongoing support, our team helped bring care and comfort directly to her home when she needed it most—reducing the burden of frequent trips for care and helping make daily life a little easier.
Reflecting on their experience, Yamilet’s mother, Claudia, shared:
“I only have to thank you for everything you do for the kids, for Yamilet, and for our family. Thank you very much.”
We are so proud of Yamilet’s strength, resilience, and progress. Her journey reminds us that every milestone—big or small—is worth celebrating.
