July, 22, 2014, Monterey Counties Vietnam Veterans Memorial Disrespectful tagging across the Memorial. By doing this to the memorial you are showing your lack of honoring those 78 Monterey County Veterans that paid the ultimate price with their lives so that you can disrespect them and their families. There are dirtbags in this world we live in, but you are the lowest of the low. Shame on you and your family because they didn't raise you right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

November 11, 2023, at 11:00 a Veterans Day Ceremony will be held. All individuals are welcome to attend and show respect to all Veterans for their service to this great nation. There are five monuments located at the Memorial. One, the Giant Granite American Flag with the names of the 78 Veterans that were Killed in Action from Monterey County, during the Vietnam Conflict. Two, The Purple Heart Monument, Honoring Veterans wounded and or Killed in Combat. Three, The POW/MIA Monument, to honor those who were Prisoners of War or Missing in Action. Four, Gold Star Monument to honor the family members that lost a loved one to combat. Five, Berm Wall Structure facing the Salinas Valley and the city of Salinas as well as the lower view to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park. Please come and enjoy the event with us and then attend the Veterans Day Parade in Salinas at 1:00
