A big thank you to Loaves, Fishes & Computers, Inc. for generously donating laptops to support United Way Monterey County's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program!
Our organizations share a commitment to removing barriers and creating pathways to financial stability. By expanding access to technology, Loaves, Fishes & Computers helps people build skills and opportunities. Through VITA, UWMC helps individuals and families access free tax preparation services and keep more of their hard-earned money.
At UWMC, our mission is connecting people, partners, and pathways to improve lives across Monterey County. Partnerships like this bring that mission to life, connecting shared goals with resources that make a meaningful difference.

Are you 60 or older and interested in learning how to use technology with confidence? Join LFC for a FREE hands-on digital literacy workshop designed specifically for seniors!

📅 Workshop Dates: June 9, 11, 22 & 23
⏰ Time: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
📍 Location: Watsonville Community Center, 114 E. 5th Street, Watsonville

During these workshops, you'll learn:

🌟 SIEDI Partner Win: Creating Pathways to Opportunity 🌟

At LFC, we believe that digital skills, workforce development, and community partnerships can change lives.

Through our partnership with the Salinas Inclusive Economic Development Initiative (SIEDI) and local employers, participants gained valuable career readiness skills, increased confidence, and access to employment opportunities.

📈 Program Highlights:
✅ 37 individuals received workforce services
✅ 11 participants secured employment
✅ 8 participants were hired at Joby
✅ 92% hire rate among participants who completed interviews
✅ Participants reported a 25% increase in career readiness confidence
✅ Joby hires experienced an average 98% increase in annual salary

These outcomes demonstrate what is possible when nonprofits, employers, and community partners work together to create meaningful opportunities for local residents.

Loaves, Fishes & Computers is incredibly grateful to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation for their generous $7,500 grant award supporting our AI-Focused Internet & Social Media Safety Workshops for Students & Youth. 💻🤖

This funding will help us provide students with hands-on education focused on:
✅ Safe and responsible internet use
✅ Understanding AI and digital tools
✅ Social media awareness & online safety
✅ Protecting personal information online
