James and Amber participated in the two-day Becoming Me Facilitator Training, a gender-specific curriculum designed to support youth impacted by child trafficking.
Trainers Leah Albright-Byrd and Michelle Guymon did an incredible job providing participants with the knowledge and tools needed to facilitate the curriculum through a trauma-informed and youth-centered approach, while remaining sensitive to the experiences and needs of the youth being served.
We are grateful for opportunities like this that allow our VHA team to continue expanding our knowledge, strengthening our skills, and increasing our ability to provide safe, compassionate, and informed support to youth in our community. 💙

Having easy access to hygiene items and snacks helps ensure our youth feel supported, cared for, and comfortable while participating in our programs. Our VHA Youth Outpatient clients spent time painting rocks and expressing themselves through creativity. Activities like this provide youth with a healthy outlet for emotions, encourage mindfulness, reduce stress, and help build positive coping skills that can support them throughout their recovery journey.

Recovery is also about discovering healthy ways to manage emotions, connect with others, and enjoy the moment.
