If you’re 18 or older, please remember that a background check through Checkr and fingerprinting at the Chamber office are required before the event to ensure the safety of all participating children.

The Salinas Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is excited to share that the 2025 Children’s Shopping Tour will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Northridge Mall.

Each year, local schools and teachers nominate children, based on need, to participate in this special event. On Shopping Tour Day, each child is paired with a volunteer chaperone and receives a gift card to shop for essential clothing. Generous retailers at Northridge Mall offer exclusive discounts, maximizing the impact of each donation.

72nd Children’s Shopping Tour: A Heartwarming Success! 🎁🛍️

Hosted at the Northridge Mall by the Salinas Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the 72nd Children's Shopping Tour brought together 400 amazing kids. Dedicated to providing winter clothes and school essentials, this event set these children up for success.

This tradition thrives thanks to our teachers, volunteers, and chaperones, who worked tirelessly to ensure an unforgettable shopping experience for hundreds of local children. A special thank you to the CST committee members, Salinas Valley Chamber staff, and Northridge Mall partners — JC Penney, Macy’s, A Children’s Place, Journeys, and Old Navy—for adding magic to this special day.

You can volunteer at one of the many stations, such as set-up, check-in, distributing gift cards, cutting merchandise tags, take-down, or you can sign up to be a chaperone and spend a fun-filled day of shopping with the children. It was a success with over 300 volunteers and chaperones combined, taking hundreds of local children shopping for school clothes.
